Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Steve Jolliffe was born on April 28, 1949, in England. He began his musical journey in 1967 when he joined a band called the Joint, where he played alongside Rick Davies, who later co-founded Supertramp. Jolliffe’s passion for music led him to study at the Berlin Konservatorium, where he met Edgar Froese, a key figure in the formation of Tangerine Dream.

- Tangerine Dream: Jolliffe was part of one of the earliest lineups of Tangerine Dream, contributing to their innovative sound. He rejoined the band in the late 1970s and recorded the album Cyclone in 1978.

Jolliffe has released over 40 solo albums, starting with Earth in 1978. His works include The Bruton Suite, Alien, and Zanzi. He is known for his diverse musical style and experimentation with electric and acoustic instruments, including the keyboard, flute, and piccolo.
